Leather Desk Linings, What we offer…..

We can undertake the complete job for you, from replacing the leather desktop, to repolishing and even complete restoration, or we can supply the leather desktop, for you to carry this out yourself.

When you DIY, we supply the leather desktop lining with the gilding pattern you require applied, with complete instructions in how to fit it to your desk.

Things to consider…..

Skiver or Hide? Skiver leather is fine quality leather traditionally used for desk linings. It is normally from  sheepskin. For a single piece desktop, the maximum size is 42 x 18 inches. If your desktop inlay  is larger than that, we will supply it in 3 pieces. See the photo to the right for a three piece skiver desktop.

If you want to keep it in one piece, you will need  to select cow hide.

Measure the inlay, not the desktop. Obvious, but many people just send us the desk’s measurements.

Unusual shape? Send us a template of the inlay.

How is it supplied? To your measurements plus one inch all round.

How is it fitted? Remove the old inlay, thoroughly clean and sand (if required) the old surface. Trim the bottom and one side of the new lining. Stick the inlay down, smooth out and trim the remaining two sides. An instruction sheet is supplied with the leather lining.

£10.80 per square foot in Skiver
£12.00 per square foot in Hide

Carriage is £3.99.

We think our prices are the most competitive in the UK. All prices shown include VAT, but exclude postage. This is charged at £3.99.

To confirm colours, we are happy to send you leather samples.

A109, A10 (Blind), A10, A16, E23, E14, E19, E29, C11, C7, C12.

A10 and A16 above are in silver, the rest are in gold. Blind tooling can be carried out with any pattern.
